Submit blog to Google, Yahoo, MSN
The fact is, you don't need too, they will find your blog through inboud links. However, if you want to make sure a particular search engine must index your blog then manual submission will be a good idea. Make sure you don't overdo it. If within couple of weeks your blog doesn't get indexed [that's in rare case] submit your blog once more.

Another best available option to submit your blog to G and Y is add your blog feed as a sitemap in webmaster tool option.
